Jessica R. Scott is a British freelance writer, translator, and copy-editor, with an MA in Translation and Culture from UCL. Her project interests include multicultural literature within Scandinavia, an area where multiculturalism is sorely needed. When she's not working, she either writes fiction for her own pleasure, or participates in activities pertaining to contemporary feminism in a Nordic setting.
For me, translation is all about finding different ways to communicate an idea: you have to be able to find the right words, and those words may change depending on the subject matter, tone of text, and intended audience. There are few things more satisfying than finding the perfect solution for a tricky source text.
